The agreement in principle for the absorption of the EUROMEDICA Group was announced by Imithea SA, owner of the Errikos Dunan Hospital, with the aim of creating one of the largest health groups in Greece.
Upon completion of the absorption, “Imithea” will have a fully vertical group with a presence in primary and secondary care, as well as Recovery and Rehabilitation Centers, with a wide geographical coverage of the Greek territory.
Large network throughout the territory
The Henry Dunant hospital will be augmented by 7 General Hospitals and Obstetric Clinics in Athens, Thessaloniki, Heraklion, Rhodes, Kozani, by an extensive network of 23 Diagnostic Centers throughout Greece (Athens, Thessaloniki, Heraklion, Rethymnon, Larissa, Pieria, Alexandroupoli), as well as a Rehabilitation Center in Thessaloniki.
The new health group will employ over 2,700 workers, while it will have more than 1,000 secondary care beds throughout Greece, with the ability to serve over 120,000 cases a year. In primary care, the group’s network, when it matures, will be able to serve over 1,000,000 visits per year through a network of 3,500 cooperating doctors throughout Greece.
The absorption process will start soon and its completion is subject to the approval of the competent Competition Authorities and the receipt of the corporate approvals provided for in the law.
