Public health authorities in Greece on Tuesday confirmed 53,436 new Covid-19 infections in the country for the last week of October 2022, with the total number of reported and confirmed infections in Greece totaling 5,188,890.
This is equivalent to 5,122 infections per one million people during the specific week (weekly change: 1 percent), with 23 percent of the weekly new infections being re-infections.
Additionally, another 164 deaths from Covid-19 were reported in the same week, or 16 fatalities per one million people (weekly change: 23 percent), bringing the total number of victims since the pandemic began to 33,750.
Of the victims, 85 percent had an underlying condition and/or were aged 70 or more.
A total of 85 patients were intubated as of Oct. 30. Their median age is 73 years and 96.5 percent have an underlying condition and/or are 70 years old and over.
