Major Thai hotel and resorts operator Dusit plans to soon open its first unit in Greece in coastal southeast Athens, and specifically in the upscale Glyfada district.
The 36-suite Dusit Suites Athens is scheduled to open next month, in a property that once hosted the John’s Hotel up until 2012. The previous hotel was associated with the iconic Greek national men’s team of the 1980s.
The specific site is located in a choice location of the so-called Athenian “Riviera”, the coastal stretch extending from Faliro Bay, near Piraeus, southeast to Cape Sounion.
Renovations and remodeling has taken up the better part of the past two years, with the property now featuring an outdoor pool and a full spa, along with full bar and restaurant facility, including the eponymous Tao brand of Asian cuisine.
The renovation contract has been executed by the Vitael firm, with ISV Architects signing off on the remodeling and redesign plans.
The listed company currently has hotel and resorts in the UAE, Singapore, Qatar, Vietnam, the Philippines, the Maldives, Oman, Nepal, Bhutan the United States.
