The Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats (S&D) group’s bureau – i.e. its president and vice-presidents – will convene in Athens on Thursday and Friday, following an invitation by PASOK party leader and S&D MEP Nikos Androulakis.

The two-day sessions will be held at the Technopolis venue in central Athens.

Participating MEPs will tour the Athens Acropolis on Friday and will be briefed on Greece’s standing efforts to repatriate the Parthenon Marbles from the British Museum.

Sessions will focus on the issue of housing, specifically protection of primary residences and the high cost of renting, as well as youth and precarious employment.

Former PASOK president and deputy prime minister Evangelos Venizelos is listed as one of the speakers scheduled to address a closed-door bureau session.
