Registered unemployment in Greece fell by 3.2 percent – or by 35,068 individuals in absolute terms – in February 2023, compared with the same month in 2022. The figure was down 1.5 percent in comparison with the previous month, January 2023, official figures showed on Monday.
The number of unemployed people totaled 1,074,573 in February 2023, of which 538,940 are long-term unemployed – jobless for more than 12 months.
Men accounted for 36.1 percent of unemployed and women 686,562.
The number of people receiving jobless benefits exceeded 239,000 in February 2023, of which 106,013 were men and 133,183 women.
