Greek kiwifruit continues its dynamic export course, which, confirming its reputation, is now targeting the markets of Vietnam.
Thus, in this context, this period according to the Association of Fruit and Vegetable Exporters Incofruit Hellas, there are inspectors from Vietnam in Greece, who are checking kiwi crops and factories, in order to finalize the signing of a relevant cooperation protocol between the two countries .
“Within the framework of the strategy that the extroversion of the fruit and vegetable sector is our priority, a request was submitted by Greece for approval to import kiwifruit among other countries and into the Vietnamese market”, explains the special advisor of Incofruit Hellas Giorgos Polychronakis.
For this reason, according to the exporters, the competent services of Vietnam, following negotiations, sent a team of inspectors to Greece, which, accompanied by a corresponding team from the Department of Plant Production Protection of the Ministry of Agriculture, are currently inspecting crops and standardization-packaging and export facilities of kiwis and after the return of the inspectors, the signing of a bilateral phytosanitary protocol for the export of Greek kiwis to Vietnam is expected.
It is recalled that Israel and Brazil, after the completion of the relevant procedures, are the first markets to which the Greek Kiwi will travel from the new season 2023/24.
