The recommendation of the competent agency for the master plan of the port was approved, by a majority, by the city council of Thessaloniki.
The deputy mayor of Technical Works and Sustainable Mobility Makis Kyrizidis recalled that “in 2016 the municipal council had already issued a positive opinion” and that the relevant gazette was issued in 2018, while he referred to the seven observations of the agency regarding the plan.
The opposition voted negative and white. The floor was taken by the municipal councilor of the faction “Thessaloniki Mazi” Ria Kalfakakou, the head of the People’s Rally Sotiris Zarianopoulos, the head of “Thessaloniki Hellenic Polis” Ioannis Kourianidis, the municipal councilor of “POLIchromi Thessaloniki” Andreas Kourakis, the independent municipal councilor Sakis Tzakopoulos, the municipal councilor and secretary of the municipal council Christina Archontis.
