A deadline for registration, by eligible Greek citizens, to acquire the right to cast a postal vote for the upcoming June 9 European Parliament election is Monday, April 29.

According to Greece’s relevant interior ministry, the rate of registration over the past few days is roughly 10,000 per day, up from 3,000 to 4,000 applications received on a daily basis previously.

As of Saturday, more than 157,000 Greek citizens had registered on the relevant online platform. In a break down of the figure, some 116,000 reside in the country, while upwards of 41,100 are permanent or temporary residents in 115 countries around the world.

Eight out of 10 registrants are residents of European countries (34,580 – 84.1% of the total).

Registration takes place through the site epistoliki.ypes.gov.gr, which is accessible through gov.gr and the websites of the interior and foreign affairs ministries.
