The horticultural products of the Greek land, such as tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, eggplants and fruits, such as the persimmon, grown in sunny Spain are essential components of the Mediterranean diet and European consumers choose them both for their nutritional value as well as for their distinctive taste.
The nutritional benefits and the incomparable taste of the above products are promoted in the markets of Greece, Spain, Germany, and Hungary, through the program “Information and promotion actions of fruits and vegetables in the EU internal market”, with the distinctive title MEDITERRANEAN COMBO, which is implemented with the co-financing of the European Union and is a transnational cooperation program (Greece, Spain).
Looking at a year full of activities that include product sampling for the consumer public, participation in international exhibitions, press releases, wholesalers’ invitations, and press briefings in the target countries, MEDITERRANEAN COMBO is dynamically starting its first year of implementation.
The three-year program MEDITERRANEAN COMBO has just started with the Agricultural Cooperative of Vegetables of the Municipality of Ierapetra “ANATOLI” as the leading partner, and the implementing bodies are the Agricultural Fruit and Vegetable Cooperative of Tympara, the Agricultural Cooperative of Production and Commerce F. Kompogennitakis & Co. -“TA FALASARNA”, the “PSARIS”Agricultural Cooperative for the Trade of Vegetables, the Agricultural Cooperative for the Production and Trade of Early Vegetables of Ierapetra Kamiros, and the Spanish Cooperative Kaki (Asociacion Espanola Del Caqui). MEDITERRANEAN COMBO is implemented with executive body NOVACERT LTD, together with the Italian company BLANCDENOIR.
