China-based Fosun Tourism Group, which controls the iconic Club Med chain, this week announced four major investments in Greece, and specifically four hotels set to open this year under the Casa Cook and Cook’s Club brand names.
The “Cook” moniker is the result of Fosun’s purchase of the corporate name of bankrupt tour operator Thomas Cook in 2019, as well as properties belonging to the now defunct UK company.
According to Fosun Tourism Group Vice-President Alessandro Dassi, who spoke during a press conference in Athens on Thursday, the three of the four properties that will open in May are the boutique hotel Casa Cook Samos (128 rooms) near the town of Pythagorion; the Casa Cook Mykonos (26 rooms), as well as the adults-only Cook’s Club Ialysos on Rhodes (83 rooms) – the second Fosun property on the island after the Cook’s Club City Beach Rhodes.
The fourth unit will open in June, namely, the Cook’s Club Corfu (195 rooms) at the Gouvies site on same-name Ionian Island.
