PASOK-KINAL president and MEP Nikos Androulakis charged that Greek PM Kyriakos Mitsotakis merely avoided giving explanations during the latter’s televised address, made earlier on Monday, over a wiretapping furor involving the former’s mobile phone.

Androulakis said Mitsotakis “systematically avoided providing explanations about a deep-state branch established” within the National Intelligence Service (EYP).

The PASOK party leader charged that a notorious spyware was used in an attempt to bug his mobile phone, while only a few days earlier I had been placed under surveillance by EYP…we would not have been aware of these shady practices had it not been for the European Parliament‘s official report.”

He also ridiculed media reports over the purported request by Armenia and Ukraine to request that he be spied on.
