United Group, a top telecoms and media provider in southeast Europe, on Thursday announced a two-billion-euro investment in Greece, until 2027, through local affiliate Nova.
The investment mainly foresees the development of a fiber optic network of 10 Gigabit, with the aim being to cover 40 percent of the population and businesses in Greece, and 70 percent of the regions.
In a presentation on Thursday, the company pointed to 22,000 kilometers of a new fiber optics network guaranteeing substantially faster speeds and at more economical rates.
United Group last spring purchased Wind, one of three major mobile phone providers in the country.
