An amendment tabled by the Ministry of Development and Investments foresees a ban on sending and exporting logging products outside Greek territory until March 1, 2023. The amendment was tabled in the draft law “Incorporation of Directive (EU) 2019/882 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 17 April 2019 on accessibility requirements for products and services and other urgent provisions to enhance development”.
The temporary ban on the export of processed or unprocessed logging products to both EU and third countries is being promoted in order to address the high price of these products on the market and the increased risk of illegal logging occurring in the coming winter.
