On June 15, 2022, Naval Group and the Greek company MEVACO signed a Framework Agreement on mechanical systems for FDI HN frigates for the Hellenic Navy.
Naval Group has recognized MEVACO as a major supplier of mechanical and metallurgical equipment, and under the agreement, MEVACO will supply part of the mast, hull and mobile equipment.
As pointed out in the company announcement, the signing of this framework agreement reflects Naval Group’s ambitious Participation Plan for Greek Industry, demonstrating the Group’s commitment to developing and building a strong industrial cooperation with Greek industry. The participation of Greek industry in any weapon systems procurement deal has been a commitment of the state.
Other contracts
In addition, and following the same procedure, other contracts with several other Greek companies are in the process of being signed in the coming months. The goal of Naval Group is to further develop its footprint in Greece through collaborations with Greek industry, research, and academic partners.
The Framework Agreement with MEVACO reflects the dynamics of the French-Greek cooperation that is also developing from the partnership agreement signed between GICAN (French Marine Industry Group) and SEKPY (Association of Greek Defense Manufacturers) in February 2020.
