Cruise ship arrivals to the well-known Dodecanese island of Rhodes this season have already surpassed the 2019 figure – part of the “banner year” for Greek tourism – over the January-May period by 51 percent.

Specifically, the cruise sector began in January this year, with 88 vessels docking at the large southeast Aegean island up until late May, up from 43 during the January-May period in 2019. Additionally, cruise ship passenger arrivals were up by 26 percent, compared to the same period of 2019, even amid a still hovering pandemic, a surge in inflation and the war in Ukraine.

A total of 417 dockings of cruise ships are scheduled for all of 2022 on Rhodes, compared to 258 in 2019.
