Covid-19-related admissions to hospitals, the number of intubated patients and related deaths increased in the second week of January, Greek public health officials announced on Thursday.
A total of 1,748 Covid-19 cases were admitted to hospitals this period (up 7 percent compared to the previous week), or an average of 250 patients per day.
Moreover, 147 Covid-19 patients were intubated as of Jan. 15, while another 186 related fatalities were reported during the same week – up 16 percent from the previous week. The median age of the victims was 85 years.
