Τhe unemployment rate in the Eurozone and the EU remained at historic low levels in February 2022, namely, at 6.8 percent and 6.2 percent, respectively, Eurostat announced on Thursday.
The EU executive’s statistics authority also said Greece’s unemployment rate fell to 11.9 percent in February 2022, down from 12.8 percent in January.
Eurostat said 13.267 million people were unemployed in the EU, of which 11.155 million are recorded in the Eurozone last month.
Spain (12.6 percent), Greece (11.9 percent) and Italy (8.5 percent) recorded the highest unemployment rates, while the Czech Republic (2.4 percent), Poland (3 percent) and Germany (3.1 percent) posted the lowest rates.
The unemployment rate among young people (aged below 25 years) was 14 percent in the Eurozone, whereas Greece (33.1 percent) and Spain (29.7 percent) had the negative distinction of topping this list.
