
The “Greek Breakfast” brought smells and tastes from the Aegean to HORECA 2023 honoring Chios, Karpathos and Kasos, islands with great history, natural beauty, rich culinary tradition and local production, as part of their inclusion in the Program, according to announcement of the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels.
With the theme “Smells and tastes of the Aegean. A tasty journey from Chios, to Karpathos and Kasos” the rich culinary tradition of the islands unfolded at the Greek Breakfast stand, through presentations of local products and dishes, treats, video projection and live cooking demonstrations, which gathered the interest of the large audience that visited the exhibition.
In the framework of the signing of the Local Agreements with the representatives of the islands, the Vice-President of the Chamber, head of the “Greek Breakfast” Program, Mr. Aris Soulounias, after welcoming them to the Greek Breakfast family, stated that the new Local Standards, which emerged after four-month collaboration for the recording of the relevant culinary portfolios, are the ambassador of the uniqueness of their local gastronomy while, with the signing of the new Agreements, the Greek Breakfast moves to the next day.
As he characteristically pointed out, “we are moving into a new period of extroversion for the Program. We aim to modernize its identity and image so that it becomes an enticing “product/experience” for the tourist market with the aim of adding value to the business activity of Greek hoteliers.
Local agreements
The local agreements were signed for Chios by Mrs. Antigoni Maistralis, President of the Hoteliers’ Union of Chios, for Karpathos by Mr. Manolis Paragyios, Deputy Mayor of Tourism and for Kasos by Mrs. Maria Tsakiri, President of the Association of Professionals, Businessmen and Merchants, who expressed the their satisfaction with their cooperation and inclusion in the program.
It is worth noting that the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels with the GREEK BREAKFAST program invites you to an experiential experience, a taste journey that combines nature, tradition and history while highlighting and supporting the Greek producer, hotelier and local entrepreneurship, aiming at sustainable and qualitative upgrading of the tourism product, creating conditions for the development and recovery of the tourism economy.
