The Italian newspaper La Repubblica, in its first report on the Greek elections, writes on its website that “in Greece, according to the exit poll, the victory of Mitsotakis is clear”.
“The conservative party of the Greek prime minister confirmed the success of the May elections, but this time, with the new electoral law, he will be able to form a government,” adds the Rome newspaper.
“Absolute majority of seats thanks to the bonus”
“Thanks to the new electoral law and the prize of the majority for the winner (including the seat bonus), Mitsotakis is sure to secure the absolute majority of seats,” he notes characteristically.
“In Greece, Mitsotakis is heading for an absolute majority,” the Italian news agency Ansa also reports.
All Italian media highlight that, based on the joint exit poll, the New Democracy party is expected to elect at least 158 MPs.
