The Deputy Minister of Finance, Mr. Haris Theocharis, in an interview with “Vima tis Kyriakis” leaves open the possibility of substantial improvements being made to the pending tax bill, which establishes a minimum annual fee of 10,920 euros for all self-employed professionals.
He shuttered any possibility of taking into account the family income in the case of a professional with very low proceeds so that he is not taxed with the minimum wage, while no new incentives are expected to be given for citizens to ask for proof. He also identified tax evasion in Greece at around 8-10 billion euros.
Mr Theocharis also expressed reservations as to the extension of any incentive measures, beyond the ones already in place like the tax lottery and adding to the lax-free limit by obtaining receipts from certain categories of professionals and services.
On the other hand, he announced emergency aid for the holidays to households, with the final decisions to be taken by the Prime Minister Mr. Kyriakos Mitsotakis himself in the next period. Finally, he announced that the objective values of the properties where there are objections will only change if the appraisers give the green light.
