Greece and Israel on Tuesday signed a bilateral defense cooperation program for the ongoing year, during a ceremony held at the defense ministry in Athens.

The program envisages participation by armed forces of each country in corresponding inter-branch exercises conducted by the other; joint training by special operation forces; an exchange of trainees attending national armed forces schools, seminars and multinational academies; an exchange program involving instructors, as well as high-ranking meetings and talks on issues of mutual interest.

The program also includes participation in initiatives agreed to as part of the Greece-Cyprus-Israel joint action plan for 2022.

The text was signed by the head of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff’s (GEEThA) international relations department, Brig. Nicholaos Holevas, and the IDF’s head of the international cooperation department, Col. Gil Dolov.
