Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis will pay an official and closely watched visit to New Delhi on Wednesday, following a historic visit by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Athens last summer.
Mitsotakis is scheduled to kick off his official contacts in India on Wednesday morning by meeting with Modi to discuss further bilateral cooperation in trade, tourism, investments and culture. The two leaders are expected to make joint statements to the press at noon, local time.
The Greek government has repeatedly said it wants to better promote the country’s strategic geopolitical position as a southeast gateway to Europe, with India eyed as a strategic partner in trade and investments.
Greek Foreign Minister George Gerapetritis and a delegation of Greek entrepreneurs are already in India.
In the evening, Mitsotakis will be the keynote speaker at the “Raisina Dialogue 2024” conference.
