Greek Finance Minister Christos Staikouras on Friday referred to an urgent need to activate an EU recovery fund – dubbed the Next Generation EU recovery instrument – during his statements at informal video conference of the eurozone’s economic and finance ministers.
Staikouras, who is overseeing an economy hit hard by the pandemic, said any delays would have negative repercussions on the recovery, and also send a negative message over Europe’s ability to deal quickly and effectively with major challenges.
