The ship AQUA STAR sailed safely into the port of Lavrio with the assistance of a tug.
The passenger car ferry had suffered mechanical damage to the right main engine, in the area of Kafireas.
The ship with 375 passengers, which was operating the route Kavala – Lemnos – ‘Ai Stratis-Lavrio, sailed -with delay as expected- to the port of Lavrio using the left main engine.
It is worth noting that in the sea area where the damage occurred north-northeasterly winds were blowing at 7 to 8 Beaufort.
