With a turnover growth of 26.4%, the home equipment chain JYSK Greece closed the financial year 2020/2021 (September-August) which further expands its network with eight new stores. Specifically, sales reached 49.41 million euros with EBIT reaching 4.485 million euros. This, according to the company, corresponds to an increase of 26.4% in turnover compared to the previous financial year while EBIT in the corresponding period was slightly above zero.
Commenting on the results, Sandor Szimeiszter, Country Manager JYSK of Greece, Hungary and Austria said: “It was a difficult year for JYSK in Greece and in all other countries for well-known reasons, but it was also our most successful year. since 2015 when JYSK started its operation in Greece. Especially in categories such as home and garden furniture and mattresses, sales have increased a lot compared to last year.”
JYSK already has 47 stores in Greece, with the result that one JYSK store is now close to most Greeks. This proximity to its customers as well as the international experience that JYSK has from its operation in 50 countries around the world are factors that helped to achieve this exceptional result. “This result is a combination of our strategy to be close to our customers and to constantly improve through renovations of stores and new services but also the work of our dedicated employees and executives in Greece who are behind every success” says Mr. Szimeiszter .
In the financial year that will end in August 2022, JYSK has a plan to open 8 more new stores but also to renovate 8 older stores in order to be upgraded based on the new store concept implemented by JYSK worldwide.
“We are constantly investing in the renovation of our stores so that our customers can experience a unique shopping experience in a modern business environment,” notes Mr. Szimeiszter.
The first JYSK store in Greece opened in 2015. During the financial year 2020/2021, JYSK opened 9 new stores in Greece and now has 47 stores and employs 387 employees in the country.
It is noted that the Danish chain JYSK has more than 3,000 stores in 50 countries around the world and announced record results with a total turnover of 4.4 billion euros and an EBIT of 610 million euros.
