Polaris 21- The exercise of the French navy in the western Mediterranean is in progress

From 18 November to 3 December 2021, the French Navy is conducting a joint, allied exercise of high-intensity operational preparation, at locations of major importance, mainly in the western Mediterranean.

As the Embassy of France in Greece emphasized in its announcement, “the exercise” Polaris 21″ is an innovation, thanks to its large scale. It strengthens and coordinates the cooperation between the allies of the French armed forces in demanding actions “.


The exercise involves warships and aircraft from allied countries of France (Greece, USA, Spain, Italy and the United Kingdom). A total of 6,000 troops have been mobilized, of whom 4,000 belong to the French Navy.

Greece is participating with the frigate ADRIAS.
