The Panhellenic Maritime Federation (PNO) calls on the coastal shippers association to enter into negotiations with the sailors union, for the signing of a new collective labor agreement, with “realistic” and “improved” proposals, in today’s announcement. PNO, the day before yesterday, announced a 48-hour strike that ends today at 24.00 at midnight with the prospect of escalation.
The sailors’ union demands salary increases in the Collective Labor Agreements for the years 2020 and 2021, but also the solution of the problems of the sector.
For today, Monday, December 13, 2021, the seafarers have scheduled a gathering at 10.30 am. at the Port of Piraeus, opposite the Electric Railway Station at Blue Star Delos.
PNO in its announcement states that the Federation of Sailors, fully respecting the passenger public, sought and wanted the negotiations with the coastal shippers to be completed as soon as possible “because the delay unfortunately leads to dynamic developments”.
The Federation of Sailors also adds that “after a delay of more than two years of negotiations with the Association of Passenger Shipping Companies SEEN for the signing of a new Collective Bargaining Agreement for the years 2020 and 2021, we have clearly and honestly stated our positions and demands. which the other side “forgetting” the fact that seafarers did not receive any increase for the years 2020 and 2021 (last increase of 2% in 2019), refused to substantially discuss our positions and proposed “increases” of 0% for 2020 and 1% for 2021 and in fact without retroactivity.”
PNO asks for the understanding and full support of both the passenger public and all employees of the country, while the Panhellenic Association of Lifeboat Crews with four-hour and six-hour work stoppages also participates in the mobilizations of the coastal sailors.
It is noted that, yesterday, the Association of Passenger Shipping Companies (SEEN), with its announcement, addressed its call to the Panhellenic Maritime Federation, to cancel the strikes on the shipping ships and to continue the collective bargaining for the collective bargaining. work.
