The latest study by the Union of Hellenic Chambers shows that roughly one in five consumers of electricity in Greece (22 percent) and one in four (25 percent) consumers of heating stated that they are not in a position to fully cover related bills.

The study, undertaking before the holiday season, coincides nearly a double-digit annualized inflation rate – unprecedented by Eurozone standards – in terms of energy prices basic goods.

The study was conducted between Nov. 9 and Nov. 11. One result is that 20 percent of respondents said they have postponed paying certain bills or are unable to cover their obligations.

Another study by the Focus Bari group shows that cost of living, the general economy situation and the energy crisis are the “Top 4” concerns of Greek citizens today.
