Firefighters continue to battle flames in Eastern Attica, Loutraki and Dervenochoria.
With the first light of day, the aerial means started dropping water. Specifically, six helicopters and one aircraft are operating on the fire in Dervenochoria, three helicopters are operating in Neos Kouvaras and five helicopters and one aircraft are operating in Loutraki. According to the fire department, the aerial means will be reinforced during the day.
An attempt to prevent the fire burning in Dervenochoria from spreading
The most difficult point in which the fire brigades operate is in Dervenochoria.
“We have a very active front south of the Titan factory, which is troubling us, causing us many flare-ups,” noted the representative of the Fire Department, Ioannis Artopioos.
However, there is still no residential area at risk, nor has it been necessary to order the evacuation of areas, as he told MEGA channel.
Because the fire is burning in a virgin forest, in a very difficult place and in combination with the strong winds that are blowing, it is very difficult to control.
140 firefighters, 48 vehicles, 6 aircraft and a helicopter operate in Dervenochoria.
