Short- and medium-term (Airbnb-style) rentals in Greece continue their upward trend unabated, as both demand and supply remain robust. Short-term rental data in the summer and October confirm the positive dynamic, with projections that it will continue until the end of 2025.
According to data from the Institute of the Greek Tourism Confederation (INSETE), the number of short-term rental accommodations during the period January–October 2025 continues to rise compared to the same period in 2024—a trend that began in 2023 and strengthened throughout 2024.
The month of October recorded a seasonal decline in Airbnb-style rentals, as expected, with accommodations totaling 234,000. Nonetheless, there were 9,000 more compared to the 225,000 recorded in October 2024.
Available beds reached 1.03 million, marking a seasonal decrease but still standing 38,000 higher than the 992,000 recorded in October 2024.
“The overall trajectory of 2025 confirms the continuous expansion of capacity, with the threshold of 1 million beds remaining steady from April onward,” the report notes.
In October, the average length of stay stood at 3.8 nights, remaining at the same level as in September and showing stability following the summer peak.
The general picture for the first ten months of 2025 indicates that, despite periodic fluctuations in the early part of the year, the average length of stay in short-term rental accommodations is stabilizing at high levels, reinforcing the positive trend of the past two years.
