A “blue chip” committee of public health experts and epidemiologists advising the Greek government on combating the Covid-19 pandemic on Thursday reportedly recommended that travelers entering the country from so-called “green areas” need only to provide proof of vaccination or negative tests within the previous 48 or 72 hours.
The former would involve rapid tests, with 72 hours required for the PCR version.
For people arriving from “orange areas”, the prerequisite for entering Greece without remaining in quarantine would be a vaccination and a PCR test showing a negative reading within the past 72 hours.
Finally, the committee’s experts reportedly advised requiring a vaccination, a negative 72-hour PCR test and a seven-day quarantine for people arriving from “red areas”, i.e. the highest concentration of Covid-19.
Additionally, the committee recommended the opening of indoor movie theaters with a 50-percent capacity, as of July 1, for vaccinated people or with the presentation of a negative self-test.
