Asked by Nikos Filippidis about the digital transition in combination with the big changes that took place in Wind, he commented that the acquisition of the company by United Group is an “excellent development, which gave a vote of confidence to both Wind and Greece”.
“It is a great pleasure for us to be part of this large group”, stressed Mr. Tsaprounis, adding that 500 million euros are planned in investments within the next five years, “which will change our country”, as he said characteristically.
“Overall, these are exceptional developments for Wind, our economy and Greece itself,” said Wind’s director of corporate relations. He noted, however, that without digital infrastructure nothing can work and that in this very sector all telecommunications companies are doing their utmost.
Referring to the Thessaloniki International Fair, Mr. Tsaprounis said that “it is a great pleasure to see the TIF start again, the country needs it, it is a development tool, despite the relatively few participations this year.”
Finally, he noted the importance of digital governance in the development of the economy, emphasizing that “young children need a boost because from there will spring the investments of the future.”
