Greek MEP Eva Kaili on Monday tabled a question for the Commission if it plans to take immediate actions, as she said, to offset surging electricity prices across the EU, especially ones affecting vulnerable households.
Kaili asked if the Commission will intervene in the electricity market to de-escalate the rate of price hikes, and what actions the EU executive is considering to offset the impact of rising electricity prices. She also asked if the Commission will it support EU governments’ interventions to protect the most vulnerable households from surging electricity prices.
