The second vice-president of the Hellenic-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry and chairman of the Agricultural Economy Committee of the organization, Vassilis Gounaris, pointed to the significant increase in Greek agricultural products and food exports to Germany amid a pandemic, speaking at an online thematic event entitled: access to Greek agricultural products and food in the Bavarian market “.
This significant increase, as he said, is due to the great steps that the Greek primary sector has taken in recent years, in particular, in terms of product quality and standardization.
The event was held on October 14, by the Financial and Commercial Affairs Munich Office, in collaboration with the Hellenic Network of Business Executives of Bavaria.
At the same time, he pointed out the need to strengthen agricultural cooperatives to ensure larger economies of scale, both at the level of producers and standardizers / exporters, with the ultimate goal of intensifying the overall extroversion of the industry.
Commenting on the actions of the Hellenic-German Chamber for the industry, he stressed that special attention is paid to issues related to the extroversion of the primary sector, with planned and extraordinary actions, focused on the Greek farmer, as well as on standardizers and exporters of Greek agricultural products.
He mentioned more specifically that the plans of the chamber include the organization of a Greek group kiosk at Asia Fruit Logistica 2022 in Hong Kong as well as the support of the organization in organizing Greek Group Kiosks at Food & Life 2021, Munich and the International Green Week Berlin 2022.
Regarding the initiatives of the Chamber of Rural Economy, he underlined that the 8th annual Hellenic-German Food Forum is planned for 2022, which will give the opportunity to all those involved in the sector from both national markets, to participate in a live Open dialogue as well as to prepare for B2B meetings, with a view to concluding new trade or other bilateral agreements.
Finally, referring to the Committee on Agricultural Economy of the Hellenic-German Chamber, he underlined the initiative taken for the preparation of a manual for the export of agri-food products, which will be presented at the Agrotica exhibition in January.
