The increase of the minimum monthly wage and the minimum daily wage was ushered in, as from today, January 1, by decision of the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Kostis Hatzidakis, following the consent expressed by the Council of Ministers last July after a relevant suggestion of the competent Minister at that time.
Specifically, the legal minimum monthly wage and the legal minimum daily wage, for full-time employment, for employees and craftsmen throughout the country, are as follows:
a) For employees the minimum wage is increased by 2% and is set at 663 euros from 650 euros previously.
b) For craftsmen the minimum wage is also increased by 2% and is set at 29.62 euros from 29.04 euros previously
Thus, the minimum wage from the current 650 euros will rise to 663 euros in January, while the profit will reach up to 195 euros per month if the three years of experienced employees are taken into account, of course if they had previous service in February 2012.
Also, the increase of the minimum wage will drag the social security organization OAED benefits with the most important the unemployment benefit that will increase by 9 euros a month.
