Primary surplus of the state budget at 417 million euros, in the first two months of 2022

Primary cash surplus of 417 million euros in the state budget was recorded in the first two months of 2022, according to data from the Bank of Greece.

Last year, during the same period, there was a primary cash deficit of 2.719 billion euros.

Also, in the period January-February 2022, the cash balance of the central government showed a deficit of 1,363 million euros, compared to a deficit of 4,307 million euros in the corresponding period of 2021. During this period, the regular budget revenues amounted to 7,795 million euros , from 6,883 million euros last year. As for the regular budget expenditures, these amounted to 8,521 million euros, from 10,459 million euros in the period January-February 2021.
