Greek Deputy Defense Minister wraps up official visit to Armenia

Greek Deputy Minister of National Defense Nikos Hardalias wrapped up his two-day official visit to Armenia on Friday.

With his counterpart Karen Brutyan he discussed prospects for deepening bilateral relations concerning defense equipment, as well as the expansion of military cooperation programs between the two countries’ armed forces.

In his meeting with Minister of High-Technology Industry Robert Khachatryan, Hardalias discussed potential cooperation in research, technology, innovation and in projects relating to their defense industries.

He also met with President of the Union of Greek Communities of Armenia, Maria Lazareva, who briefed him on the work of the Greek diaspora in Armenia. Hardalias congratulated representatives of diaspora communities for their work in support of Hellenism, and reaffirmed the Greek state’s readiness to assist whenever required. This meeting was also attended by the presidents of the Greek communities of Yerevan, Kristine Rafayelova, and of Alaverni, Vache Mkrtchyan, and also by community youth member Pavlos Akritas.

Finally, the Greek minister visited the headquarters of “Vazgen Sargsyan” Military Academy and the National Defense Research University, where he was briefed on military and academic training programs, and was given a tour of facilities and of a weapons systems exhibition.
