There were no active fire fronts in Penteli, Megara and Salamina on Thursday, but firefighting forces will remain in the area to ensure there is no rekindling of the flames, as strong winds are once more expected in Attica on Thursday, the Fire Brigade said.
In Megara, especially, five firefighting aircrafts will be operating through the day, while two firefighting aircrafts and one helicopter will operate in Penteli to prevent rekindling.
At the same time, infrastructure and transport ministry civil engineers will continue inspections of residences, businesses and public buildings in the municipalities of Penteli and Pallini for the second consecutive day.
