Public health authorities in Greece on Tuesday confirmed 54,649 new Covid-19 infections in the country for the fourth week of September 2022.
This is equivalent to 5.238 infections per one million people during the specific week (weekly change: 22 percent), with 25 percent of the weekly new infections being re-infections.
Additionally, another 85 deaths from Covid-19 were reported in the same week, or eight fatalities per one million people (weekly change: -15 percent), bringing the total number of victims since the pandemic began to 33.200.
Of the victims, 96 percent had an underlying condition and/or were aged 70 or more.
A total of 66 patients were intubated as of Oct. 2. Their median age is 72 years and 95.5 percent have an underlying condition and/or are 70 years old and over.
