Greek Finance Minister Christos Staikouras on Tuesday was named “Finance Minister of the Year 2023 for Europe” by the Financial Times group’s “The Banker” magazine.
In a statement, Staikouras referred to a “distinction for Greece, which reflects the international community’s recognition and approval of the country’s progress and performance in the critical and oft-challenged field of the economy in recent years.”
Staikouras added that the distinction “constitutes a recognition of the sacrifices of the Greek people, the adaptability and resilience of Greek businesses, as well as the hard work of the government of Kyriakos Mitsotakis.”
