Kerzner International Holdings Limited has signed a tourist resort management contract with Grivalia Hospitality S.A. for the One & Only Aesthesis to be built in Athens. The area of 210 acres where the development will take place in “Asteria Glyfada”, facing the sea, is part of a larger area which also includes a protected forest area of 6 acres and meets the demand for additional One & Only experiences in Europe, a relevant announcement stated.
It is pointed out that the opening of One & Only Portonovi in Montenegro took place in Europe recently, while One & Only Kea Island in Greece is already developing, accelerating the strategic development of the One & Only portfolio.
“At Kerzner International we are very excited about Athens’ inclusion in our European footprint. This select seaside location, just outside the city center, is great: the perfect destination to start or complete any Greek adventure, through the ultra-luxurious One & Only experience,” commented Philippe Zuber, CEO of Kerzner International . “Our partners at Grivalia are leaders in Greek real estate and are committed to honoring the site and creating a unique legacy for the future,” he added.
“Grivalia Hospitality is excited to revive a landmark along the Athenian Riviera and join forces with Kerzner International, a distinguished world leader in luxury hospitality, under the One & Only brand. One & Only Aesthesis will operate in one of the most emblematic and cosmopolitan beach attractions of Athens, which was originally designed by distinguished Greek architects. Since their development in the mid-1950s, cabanas, nightclubs and the beach have hosted the cream of local and international jet-sets. “Upon completion, this modern hybrid tourist resort city will be a unique destination of high quality in the Mediterranean, throughout the year”, commented George Chrysikos, founder and Chairman of the Board of Grivalia Hospitality.
