The Hellenic Aviation Industry actively participates in the largest flight demonstration in Greece, the Athens Flying Week which will take place on Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 September at the 114th Battle Wing in Tanagra.
At the impressive HAI stand, spectators will be able to see up close critical parts of the F-16 aircraft, which are handmade, piece by piece. The F-16s that will steal the impressions in the air of Athens Flying Week, essentially start their journey in the world from the HAI factory in Schimatari, as the Hellenic Aviation Industry is a subsidiary of Lockheed Martin for the global market.
At Athens Flying Week, two work assemblies from the program will be presented:
1. F-16 Fuel Closure Side Panel
2. F-16 Forward Section of Aft Fuselage
HAI manufactures over 30% of F-16s for world production. In fact, for the last 30 years, 500 F-16 fighter jets have been flying around the world as a result of the co-production of HAI – Lockheed Martin.
At the same time, in the Hellenic Aerospace Industry, the upgrade of the F-16 Block 52 Advanced and 52+ fighter jets to Viper continues at a steady pace. The work on the prototype aircraft was completed on February 5, while five more F-16s have been included in the program, in which the necessary modifications are being made. This upgrade will add the characteristics of a fifth generation aircraft to our Air Force fighters.
With an aggressive strategy and weapons with excellent employee training and high technology, HAI is now turning the page and competing directly with the world’s largest aviation industries. Visitors to Athens Flying Week will have the opportunity to discover the inexhaustible potential of the domestic aviation industry.
