Wildfire in Megalopolis, southern Greece

A major wildfire erupted on Tuesday in the Megalopolis region of Arcadia prefecture, in southern Greece. The fire brigade said the blaze was centered in the Kalyvia site, and not near a large power plant next to the city.

An evacuation order was given for the Kalyvia community.

Dozens of fire-fighters were battling the wildfire, while 21 vehicles were on the scene and a total of six airborne water-dropping aircraft.
