New businesses opened in greater Athens area outnumber those closing doors by 5 to 1 in first nine months of 2021

The ratio of new business registrations versus the closing of businesses is five to one in the greater Athens area (Attica prefecture) in the first nine months of 2021, with chambers of commerce and the General Electronic Commercial Registry (GEMY) recording 13,984 in the first case, and 2,684 commercial entities ending their operation, in the second.

The nearly 14,000 new business includes all types of entities, such as limited companies, partnerships, cooperatives, personal businesses etc.
