
Aiming to boost travel traffic from the US. to Greece, important promotional contacts were made for Paros and Elafonisos during the visit of the collaborating group of the consulting company of the two Municipalities in New York in the context of participation in the popular travel exhibition “Travel and Adventure Show”, from 18 to 20 March 2022.
The award-winning exhibition is the favorite of Americans and gathers over 1,500,000 visitors in the nine US cities where it is organized. Despite restrictive measures to curb the spread of COVID-19, the New York exhibition was a huge success, attracting more than 30,000 visitors. The promotional booth received significant traffic and the public interest in the islands was very high. The visitors of the stand “reached” 2,500, who were given interactive promotional material.
The US market is particularly important for Greece after direct flights from various US cities, while even recent research has shown that tourists from this country are ranked in the first ranks in terms of Average Consumption Expenditure exceeding $ 3,000 per person while increased is the length of stay that reaches about two weeks.
Just recently, United Airlines restarted its daily and direct connection between Athens and New York. The flights are scheduled until October 29, and from next month the daily, direct flight of United to Washington D.C. will start, starting on May 7, 2022.
