The producers’ price index in Greece – a composite index measuring both domestic and external markets – increased by 29.4 percent in September 2022, compared with the corresponding month in 2021, after a 19.9-percent hike when comparing the same month in 2021 and 2020, Greece’s statistics authority (EL.STAT) announced on Thursday.
The authority attributed the development to a 36.4-percent increase in the producers’ price index emanating from the external market, and a 27.2-percent increase in the domestic market index. The index was down 2.4 percent in September 2022 from the previous month, August 2022.
