The promotion of Chios by the Hellenic Tourism Organization foresees a broad tourist promotion program of 500,000 euros, financed by the Ministry of Immigration and Asylum.
The relevant programming contract, between the EOT and the Municipality of Chios, was ratified on Monday, March 13, 2023, in the presence of the minister and Member of Parliament of Chios, Notis Mitarakis.
The program is a continuation of the first funding of 2020-2021 and is an important opportunity for Chios to promote its tourism product abroad. The contract has a duration of 12 months and 3 stages of implementation.
In a statement, the general secretary of the EOT, Dimitris Fragakis, characterized Chios, “as one of the islands that will be on the path of development in the coming years and that can play an important role in the new type of tourist product that the Greek government wants to strengthen ».
