US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Tuesday joined other international leaders and officials, who previously called re-elected Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, to congratulate him for New Democracy (ND) party’s landslide election victory on Sunday.
According to reports, Blinken said he looked forward to continuing cooperation with the new Greek government, both bilaterally and within the framework of NATO. Both men also cited the need to maintain stability in the east Mediterranean.
Taking to his official Twitter account on Monday, Blinken wrote that “Greece is a crucial NATO ally and close friend. I look forward to continuing to advance our deep partnership and shared values.”
