Greek Minister of Foreign Affairs George Gerapetritis is in Washington DC on Friday as part of the 5th Dialogue Greece-United States, where he is scheduled to meet US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
The areas covered by the 5th Strategic Dialogue are: Regional Developments, Defense and Security, Humanitarian Challenges and Disaster Preparedness, Energy and Environment, Law Enforcement and Counterterrorism, Trade and Investment, People-to-People Ties.
According to an official announcement of the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the duo will make a joint press release today as part of a signing ceremony for Greece’s joining of the Artemis Space Cooperation Accords.
The Artemis Accords are non-binding multilateral agreements between the US and other governments about the Artemis program, which aims to get humans back on the Moon by 2026 and further expand space exploration.
Also on the agenda for Minister Gerapetritis is a discussion with US President Special Envoy for Climate Change John Kerry about the upcoming Our Ocean Summit, scheduled to be held in April in Greece. The Minister will make an address on the topic at the Wilson Center entitled “Our Ocean Countdown, Greece 2024.”
