Greece’s electric and plug-in hybrid vehicle sector has taken off over the recent period, even though the number and geographical disbursement of charging stations remains disappointingly low before the EU average.
According to figures from the first three months of the year, sales of BEV – and PHEV-type hybrid and electric vehicles have already reached 60.7 percent of all similar sales in 2020.
Specifically, in the Jan-Mar 2021 period, 1,297 new hybrid and electric vehicles, both BEV and PHEV types, were registered, compared to 2,135 in 2020.
Such “green” vehicle sales accounted for 5.53 percent of all automatic sales in the first quarter of 2021.
